A rank is a position held by a player within the Chain of Command. The higher rank a player holds, theoretically the more authority they have. Typically, ranks are divided into three categories: Soldiers, NCOs, and COs. The number of ranks within each category varies by campaign and division, and is determined by the General.

In ViE, the rank a player holds can be seen in every situation. In the servers, the rank is usually represented by a certain tag in front of the players name, along with other tags. In the forums, players recieve rank avatars which are often reflecting the way the rank insignia actually looks like in real life.

Comparing different ranks

While it is usually easy to see which rank is higher than another within the same system of ranks, it might be difficult to compare ranks from different systems, e.g. Axis Kriegsmarine with Allied US Infantry ranks.

Ranks sorted by Campaign

This gives a list of all ranks used in ViE, sorted by campaigns (ranks may appear multiple times). A link to the rank system used is also given (where existant). The ranks for each campaign are sorted by side and then by their position within the chain of command (lowest ranks on top).
